The homeowners in Seagirt, NJ wanted to transform this small guest bathroom from a dated, utilitarian space into something brighter, fresher, and more welcoming. The original room had a wall-mounted sink, dated brown tile, exposed plumbing, and heavy window shutters that made the space feel closed in.
Their goal was to create a guest bathroom that felt comfortable and thoughtfully finished, while making the most of the room’s compact size. They wanted better storage, a more substantial vanity, improved lighting, and finishes that would make the room feel brighter and more inviting.
The homeowners were drawn to a clean coastal style with a timeless, relaxed character—white cabinetry, soft neutral finishes, classic detailing, and dark accents for contrast.
SQ Interior Design used the homeowners’ vision as the starting point, then carefully balanced scale, light, color, and function to make the small room feel larger and more refined. A furniture-style vanity, streamlined fixtures, layered lighting, a large, rounded mirror, and crisp wall treatments were selected to create a cohesive design without overwhelming the space.
The result is a guest bathroom that feels completely transformed—brighter, warmer, and far more inviting. By combining the homeowners’ desire for a relaxed coastal look with SQ Interior Design’s attention to proportion, function, and detail, the space became a welcoming room that makes a strong impression despite its modest size.
